With no markings available, not much to go on except to confirm that it's a -5N (or perhaps -5NL).

The shiny prop hub is kind of unusual. IIRC these are mostly seen with black hubs.

Nice picture, though.

I agree. The pic is in gif. file unfortunately. The prop spinner & the white tip central tank are a bit rare. Perhaps a poss Air show or an Open House on a Navy Base? The V/stab shows some traces of an NL model also.

p.s A few of these samples I've seen in photos of Moffett Flied late 50s. If you see or know of F4U-5Ns inside in storage in a blimp hangar plz let me know also. We'll keep digging..this is the magic of a B/w!! Specially F4Us!! -) Tks

Good day!

Found a better resolution of the previous pic. It shows some traces of an "-5NL model" & some traces of numbers on the R/S of the eng cowling. The young maintainer is also poss that someone may recognize him. Poss Moffett Field .c 1950s. Photo Via AEC.

p.s This is poss one of the fresh storage samples that came fm Jax NAS or Quonset PT NAS right after the outbreak of the Korean conflict. C. 1950s.
