Anyone know if this place is still open? Their website is kaput.

Hi Pat,

I was wondering the same thing myself not too long ago. I've been wanting to see the ex-Pate C-119.

I may be up that way in a few weeks. I'll check it out if I can and let you know.

I'm getting back to this thread a bit late (sorry Pat), but I was at the Granbury Veterans Museum yesterday. I wanted to see the place and to also visit an old friend, the ex-Pate C-119. She's still in pieces but with a fence around the place I hope she's safe for now. I asked the docent on duty there about her and he told me that they are trying to find a new location for the museum, one with much more room. They don't want to go through the trouble to reassemble the C-119 and then have to take her apart again if/when they find a new location. Below are some photos. Looks like a 1:1 scale model ready to be put together!

The museum itself is good, they have lots of interesting artifacts and things to see from all military eras up to the present day. That being said, it's a bit disorganized and the lighting is poor but it's worth a visit IMHO.

Thanks for the update and the great photos. Hopefully they can find the new location they are looking for.

When they get ready to reassemble/restore the C-119, they would do well to speak with and photograph the C-119 at the SAC Museum. No sense reinventing the wheel.

ya know, the 119 is a pretty cool aircraft.
It would be interesting to have one configured as a flying apartment.
Has anyone ever done a VIP configured c-119, are there any photos of the interior?
