If you have an account on eBay here is your chance to cross the Atlantic in the Lancaster :-)

I found the Q/A listed on the auction portion interesting. Explains why they opted not to offer a raffle.

Quote:
Q: Could you clarify a few details please? 1) is there a donation receipt available for this? 2) What does the museum include with this (accommodations, etc.)? 3) can I remain with the aircraft for the duration of the trip in the UK? 4) is there a possibility that this will be a raffle item at any point? Thanks

A: To answer your questions, yes a charitable donation receipt will be issued for the full amount of the successful bid which will be of interest to Canadian bidders. The item includes accommodation and meals for the 2 day stay in Hamilton prior to departure and also for the flight over, including the 1st night in Coningsby. and then the successful bidder is on their own to return to wherever home is. When we fly in formation with other aircraft it is with essential crew only. We decided not to raffle this item for a number of reaseons. It would require a licence which incurs a cost of % of value of the item and this is priceless. Also a licence only allows us to sell to residents of Ontario. Thank you for your interest.

I think this is a brilliant way to raise funds. I know if I could afford it, I'd be all over it. A real once in a lifetime experience for sure.

As an A&P and a flight engineer...you think they'll take my bid without meeting the Reserve????!!!
