Bell P-39 Aircobra identification

Hi to all
In advance I want to apologize for my english
I dont know it is right place but Im looking for people who can help me.
Precisely I need to identify P-39 part and if possible serial number of plane.
Last week I found it in forest near Polish east country border.
The part is (in my opinion) rest of the rib. I think it is from tailplane - elevator
Maybe it is from one of the Aicobras "lend lease's" for Russia during WWII
Maybe rest of the plane is near there

Welcome to the board. I'd suggest reaching out to the Niagara Aerospace Museum. They are heavily focused on Bell aircraft and have an intact recovered lend lease Airacobra. See their contact information in this link: http://wnyaerospace.org/?page_id=55

What an interesting find of an ID # on a P-39/P-63 aircraft. That is still another ID # on a Bell aircraft.
Just a few comments for now:
1. Plz send another shot of the back of picture #1? Same with picture #2.
2. Plz send another close-up of the #s> X2-3592? on the second picture. The last digit looks like a #4 fm this side of the pond.
You may also contact the CAF Dixie Wing in Georgia at: http://www.dixiewing.org for possible info/data on this ID #. They have a P-63A under restoration (AAF- 42-68941) & they may be familiar with this possible elevator part. It appears so far that you have a partial AAF S/N. Maybe the CAF Wing/Folks in Texas can further expand on this subject. Good luck with the rest of the search!

This is a rib assembly of an elevator. It is not possible to get the type or the serial of this specific P-39 just from the part numbers.

Thanks for the close-ups & angles of the posted pictures.! They seem to clarify a lot about the poss area.
Nick SwissYak may be partially correct. What you seem to have is a part # now showing "14L-223502-4" of a poss L/Elevator rib assy area. Prob the inner section area close to the V/Stab. I'll send you a pic in 24 hrs or less of the poss location with an item that looks similar to your picture fm a P-63 sample. In order to find the AAF S/N of your sample you have to find at least 1 wing, 1 door or an aileron. Then we'll go from there.
Plz post these pics in www.flypast.com in the section of Allied Forces or Historic threads. There are several P-39s in storage in the UK or in restoration & I'm sure someone may have also run in the same type of #s. Your #s do match a poss P-39 samples of ID numbers. P-63s P/N usually begin with a 296-XX-XXX series of numbers.
