I have three of these Bendix Hydraulic Gun Chargers. The Part number is 76861. Any idea what this came out of? I'm thinking maybe F6F but can't find my parts manual right now.

P-40's had them for a while until they changed them over to a manual charging system.

Hi Brad - the CAF Helldiver has a pair of those handles on the panel. I don't know if the actual charging units are fitted or just the handles.

Hey Brad,

They were used on many Navy aircraft that hydraulically charged 50 cal guns like the F4U, F6F, SB2C, PV-1, PV-2 and many others. It was quite a common part several of which were usually found in front of the pilot.
