Hello all. The participation with the new B-17 Header graphic went so well I have decide to try the same thing for the Spitfire Registry. We have had the current header for awhile now.

Image

It would be nice to replace it and I'm sure the WIXers out there have some amazing pictures! So if you have a picture of one of more Spitfire, preferably in the air but as with the B-17 image, on the ground can work too. It needs to be a more horizontal orientation since the header is 1000x200 pixels. I need to have a largish image (1000 pixels wide at least) and one with an uncluttered background would be preferred (i have to close the area where the words go and the simpler the background the simpler that is.)

I will select my favorite three and made mocked up headers and then the members of WIX will be able to vote on them!
Thank you in advance for participating.

Well, I was going to post something, but then I saw Peter's shot, and well... no sense in trying to one-up perfection. :)

That's an utterly gorgeous shot Peter.

I know these two don't stand a chance but I like 'em.

Happy New Year everyone.

Nice shots everyone. I don't think it's possible to take a bad Spitfire photo.

Peter doesn't play fair when it comes to Spitfires  he knows too much!

His photo doesn't have any sharks mouths in it

Seriously they're all good shots :drink3: Thanks for sharing!

I don't have any quality photos to add to the mix but a concept:

Find a wartime photo of one of the Spits that survives today and balance the banner with a current photo of that bird.

A couple of mine for consideration....they may vary a bit from the ones I posted to WIX on FB, but essentially the same....

These two images are favourites although I certainly didn't take them. I have no idea who to give the photo credit to. I believe the formation shot had to be taken during the BoB movie due to the different marks and the apparent 8-Browning armament.

and my all time favourite

I know it's a little next-gen,
But I'll add a contribution.
