Just a reminder it is 7months until next Narromine based (near Dubbo) Ausfly event is to happen. There could be more warbirds and exhibitors this year if plans all go as intended. Keep mid September dates free so you can go to Narromine and see the aviation community come together as one - Australia's Oshkosh it is being called http://www.ausfly.com.au/

G'day Liberator!

There is more than a VERY STRONG chance that we will be house-sitting our Aussie friends home while they are off to the UK. Their home is on the Gold Coast just south of Brisbane and we will spend most of the month of November there. Are you aware of any planned aviation events down in that corner of Qld? I know that RAAF Amberley is just to the west of Brisbane and the Army's airfield of Oakey is just to the north.

John

I think Amberly has open days every Thursday.Oakey is open daily (ask for workshop tour) and think there is a small Flyin airshow for the 100 years of Flight in Auss in early March.Other museums here are at Caloundra and Caboolture on the Sunshine Coast.

Pity the timings not quite right to swing by Wellington NZ to catch the TVAL Remembrance Show on Nov 8th!

Rossco:

Thanks so much for the feedback on Amberley / Oakey open days as well as the two airfields in the immediate area. When September rolls around I will send you a PM to obtain any updated aviation events in the Brisbane area. My wife was so-so about spending a month there but now that she is aware that Queenslands first COSTCO is opening soon she is pumped!

John
