I remember the Wenatchee fire of 1970, 75 miles and a mountain range away the air in the Seattle area smelled like a campfire and the air was gray/brown.

That conversion was done here in Twin Falls, ID. Flew the 17 in and a Vickers Viscount and took the engines from the Viscount. The Viscount was scrapped but there were pieces around into the 80s. DOn

A Vickers VISCOUNT in 2 Falls in the late 60's/early 70's and no one took a photo? I've got a buddy who works for John Lanes at AIRPOWER and my long time best bud and Ms. Rita live there too.

I moved here in 1981 and heard a lot of stories about the conversion. TWF was a big firebomber/ sprayer base with Reeder aircraft operating TBMs, A-26s, DC3s and a fleet of Stearman AG sprayers. Don

Lowwww wing men of aviation, where pray-tell in the area of Dubois, Wyoming did the ship go down The ship was on a swath run on the down slope of a mountain, downwind on the run, so….which mountain long/lat anyone, anyone
