Hi all, It seems that the Version 4 beta test of the new site code has gone very well and I will be rolling out the upgrades as fast as time permits. The new code allows faster loading times and more efficient searching. The new software that allowed me to develop the new code allows me to update the sections MUCH faster. The F8F Bearcat section took 30+ hours to update the code from Version 2 to Version 3. With the new system it took 2 hours. I've just updated the
T-34 Mentor section to version 4 and it took me a little less time. This means that I will be able to spend more time updating the entries as opposed to the very tedious maintenance updates.
I also want to announce an addition to the staff. My step-son Antonio Soares Jr has come on board to help me with the coding updates and will be helping with research in the near future.
I just wanted to take the time on this holiday (Thanksgiving for Americans) to give thanks. Thank you all for your continued support and encouragement of the nearly two decades that the site has existed. And thank you for supporting our advertisers, it's this support that allowed for the purchase of the new software (not cheap) that has allowed for the Version 4 update and will allow for greater expansion in 2014.
And most of all, thank you for the friendships and the community that have sprung from this electronic club house. It means the world to me.
