Hi guys!

Today I had my dual glider tug checkout and that happened on a L-19.

Fun bird to fly, it comes down like a rock with those barn doors on the wings. I would love to go up again on a calm day and really work her out into neat landings... Maybe some other time!

Next time, it'll be good ole Pawnee again!

A couple of years back, I saw two L-19s flown by Canadian Cadets, when they landed at the St. Jean-sur-Richelieu airport on a very windy day.

These aircraft had the four-bladed propeller (composite, looks plastic to me : ) ] and muffled up exhausts, so they almost made no noise.

Nice kids, they invited me to walk to the other side of the fence and look at their airplanes.

Congratulations, Ollie! You keep going, man!

Yes, the Cadets' Bird Dogs have this wimpy propeller and they don't perform as well as the straight ones.

Mind you, no Bird Dog pulls a glider like the Pawnee does it!
