Had a great time at Peachtree, Ga this last weekend. Attu Warrior and crew made it in Friday night, just before they shut down the airspace for the night show... We flew with Tom Rielly's B-25 "Killer Bee" Saturday and Sunday... I found out how hot and loud the pyro's can be when your pilot is having way too much fun on the simulated ground strafing passes! Had the fortune to have veteran Bill Baldwin on board for Sundays flight. His last flight on the PV-1 and PV-2 was back in 1946. It was a real treat to see him step out of AW with a grin that said it all! The folks at Peachtree made our stay a pleasure and they were very gracious toward our efforts to get AW there. Should have some video and pics in next few days.

Well dang Gary, I was there Saturday hanging out with my Aeroshell buddies, sorry I missed you.
Actually IIRC Bill Baldwin flew in a PV-2 back about 20+ years ago when Richard Mitchell brought the original "Fat Cat" up to Dobbins AFB from Lafayette LA, & I flew with them after the Saturday show, & I am pretty sure Bill went with us.
Sure was great seeing a Harpoon fly again Saturday, the airplane looked & sounded real good!
Regards

Hey Robbie, did ya come down and tour the Poon? Would like to have met you face to face. If Bill flew back then on Fat Cat, good for him...I was told that the last time he'd done that was back in 46...by his son. It doesn't matter, we still would have taken him anyway!
I have issues getting pics on this site...can I email a few to somebody to post? I don't have but a handful of stills, as I shot mostly video, which is being edited at this time.
Midland Radio Corp has given us a couple of personal cameras as a sponsor. We got them just prior to leaving for Peachtree, so we didn't have the time to mount them on the exterior of the Harpoon, so we hand-held them....
My performance was not quite stellar, as our chief pilot Aubie, has way too much fun strafing, cranking, and banking. It is very hard (for an old fat guy) to shoot video from the astro dome during a 89 degree bank, pulling g's...missed some good shots recovering from the deck of AW.
We flew in behind the B-25 on a low pass, bomb run...the pyro boys exploded a big one behind them...when I turned to face forward, at first I saw a lot of heat waves shimmering upward in front of us....then I saw the smoke mushroom blooming in front of us...then I heard a devilish laugh from our pilot over the intercom as we headed right towards this cloud at over 200 mph....I thought to myself "this is going to hurt" I was right.
Dave was back in the ventral turret on Sunday trying to get video...spent most of his time glued to the floor in the turns and bouncing off it when they flew over the pyro stuff.
