One of the best looking Mustangs in the world, IMO. Anyone have $1.7 mil burning a hole in their pocket?

Geez...How many are there? Last time I saw BBD she was rolled into a ball of junk in a field at Duxford.

There were two, one in Europe (as you note, now destroyed), and this one based in the states (as you can see, it's in a little better shape than its counterpart).

In reality, until the Duxford incident, there were three BBD's. Another BBD is a static display and part of the Imperial War Museum's collection.

You'd think that with the amount of P51's that saw action Vs how many are left, there just wouldn't be the need to duplicates.

BBD, Old Crow etc...

.....the number of CY planes seems to have diminished owing to threats of lawsuits.

You're thinking of "Shangri-La", for which there are two P-51D's painted in very similar markings of - one in Mexico (XB-HVL) and the other in the U.S. (N51VF).
