Bomber Command Medal Presentation
to be hosted at
The Alberta Aviation Museum
Edmonton Alberta
September 10th, 2013The Alberta Aviation Museum is proud to have been asked to host the presentation of the Bomber Command Medals for the Edmonton region by the department of Veterans Affairs.
The Bomber Command Medal (
http://www.veterans.gc.ca/eng/depart...ewrelease/1723) honouring those Canadians that served in Bomber Command during World War Two is being presented to a number of local veterans, or their living relatives, that will be accompanied by guests.
Over 50,000 Canadians served in Bomber Command during World War Two with 10,000 being lost in service during the conflict.
As the last remaining Double Wide, Double Long British Commonwealth Training Plan hangar and home to #2 Air Observers School through World War Two (which trained thousands of personnel from across the Commonwealth for Bomber Command) it seems very fitting that the Alberta Aviation Museum host the presentation of the Bomber Command Medals.
The ceremony will take place September 10th, 2013 at 10:00am additional details as they come available.
The Alberta Aviation Museum will be waiving regular admissions in lieu of admission by donation for all members of the public wishing to attend the Bomber Command Medal presentation ceremony.
Seating is limited so please arrive early
