Dave,a reader of Warbirds News, has sent me this email, I hope somebody can help. Dave has asked to give his email only to who can help him.

If you can help Dave please email me and i will give you his email.

My email is info

"Iam working with Clive of Edwards Brothers Aviation in the UK

We are renovating a PBY Catalina to flight status and we have a problem

Someone in the past has drilled the Lift Struts to add ties and used steel bolts which has corroded the Aluminium beyond Airworthy repair

The struts can be cosmetically repaired and painted for museum use

The big question is do you know of anyone who may have some airworthy struts we could have

Even do a swop with a museum for ours

We also have loads of new and used parts for the Catalina should we be able to help you at all

The part no’s are

2 of 28W039 (A) or 2 x 28W10039 (B) for the Port and Stbd Front

2 of 28W040 Port and Stbd rear

If you can help in any way to get this lovely old aircraft flying again it would be very much appreciated
Regards Dave"

I would put them in contact with the Great Lakes Squadron of the CAF. They are have 2 PBYS they are using to make 1 airworthy Pig Boat so they may have spare struts...
