Someone asked me where I came up with the term "Keeping It Five", when I put it in the "SeaFury" thread, I came up with it in the '80s when Seafurys were starting to be re-motored with 4360s, 3350s,( and now 2800s) which makes $ence with the Centarus engine parts etc.. But I always like them with the Cent. and the Five Blade Rotol Prop ( JUST LOOKS COOL & BADA$$!! ). So the next time I went to the Breckenridge air show in the late "80s I meet Loyd Hamilton (he let me put his helmet on and sit in his Seafury!!) I told him that since I do art work, I wanted to print a T-Shirt with a head-on view of the Seafury (cowl.5 blade Prop & Spinner) with the words "Keeping It" on top and "FIVE" below. Loyd thought that was great and wanted me to contact when I did that. Things came up, Loyd passed away and I never did it :( . So now I would'nt mind if the Sanders people, Meier Motors, Fastaero, or WHO EVER wants to do that, It would be GREAT! You more than have my blessings, Thanks, Anthony :D

Maybe you just had a typo there, but it's "Rotol", not "Roto". Rotol props were made by Dowty.

I've always liked the look of a Fury with a five-bladed prop. I love the T-Shirt idea. I'll bet they'll sell!

Here's a geek moment...
The term "Sea Fury" is not always correct. Not all of the remaining airframes are Sea Furies. The Sea Fury had folding wings and a tail hook. Many airframes were built with fixed (non-folding) wings and no tail hook, and these are just Furies. The Iraqi aircraft fall into this category, and maybe some of the German target tugs as well? (please, someone, correct me on that if I'm wrong).

The "Sea" Fury has always been one of my favorite WW2 fighters. (no, I'm not forgetting the success they had in Korea)

The German aircraft were all Sea Furies, and so were some of the early Iraqi aircraft (ex-Royal Navy). Later examples newly-built for Iraq were Furies.

Thanks DH82EH,K5dh & Mike, I might be wrong, but I always thought that all Furies wings were folding, but had to be by Hand, because the power mech. were removed.(?) Any who BECAUSE I'm dreading what men dread most and that is that my Doc. will have to "go in" and break up my kidney stone (Thank God I'll be put under!!) Here's a joke I made up, so Please past this joke around : What did the "Wanted" poster say about the ZOMBIE ? "Wanted : DEAD AND ALIVE" Get it ?!! Zombies are.... any way I have always wanted to see a Griffon power Sea Fury/Fury with a contra prop!! THAT shirt will have to say: Keeping it SIX!! Good Luck fellow Wixers and go get a kidney catscan!! :D
