Maybe the owner of the B-25 in Franklin,VA has finally decided to move on it.

Confirmed! It is 6578D she is up for sale.
The engine was shipped to Virginia and has been stored since.
The propeller(s) are low time, but require the mandatory 5 years inspection / tear down.

The airplane needs;
the control surfaces recovered, batteries, tires, pitot/static/altimeter check, propeller(s) inspected per 5 year AD, and to have the engine re-installed. They kept fuel in the main bladders until about a year ago (when someone stole the fuel), the airplane comes with a Norton bomb sight, 1 50 cal. replica in nose (the second one was stolen), a set for the top turret and tail.

Wow! That's cool. Any idea of the asking price (not that I could afford it)?

Any word on the PT-26 that was also sitting derelict?

I flew the L 4 over to FKN to grab some pics of it with the 25. Went up inside the open bomb bay for a look around. The cockpit must have a foot deep of bird droppings in it and the crows that have made it home were in rare form. They did not want me to have a look around that's for sure. That is one sad looking aircraft. I am sure it could be restored but I imagine it would take a hefty amount of $$$$

The PT 26 prop has non totally rotted off the aircraft and now the remnants of the hub are turning to dust. Again a pathetic sight. I cant imagine what the center section of it looks like now.

Hope she goes to a good home!!! A good group kept her in the air for a long time, she deserves to get back up there.

Anyone got pics of the PT??? I got a friend with a barn full, I bet he could use another.

You guys have any ideas on how to form a group to bring this bomber back to Kansas City? We need a B-25 here in Kansas City badly.

Stopped by and grabbed some pics of the PT 26. Here are a couple of them. Will upload the others later. The wasps have made a home in the engine compartment and were not happy I was there.



This is the remnants of the prop. If it looks like this I wonder how the center section has held up.

Thanks for the PT-26 pics. Feel free to start another thread on it. My friend is not too concerned about the center section. He likes doing wood work and he has 5 PT's and ALOT of parts. He is building Jigs for the items he already does not have and has become friends with a starving cabinet maker who has expressed a interest in helping.

I think you will find that once they get going, they will start building new or repairing PT parts. I have also worked him up that once he gets the PT stuff going that he should tackle a set of L-5 wings

Any ideas as to who is the current owner? FAA website shows Rio Grande Aviation in Fredericksburg Texas.

Jeff: I think either Duncan Cameron or Sam Tabor is already set up for doing L-5 wings. If I remember correctly, there are 4 router jigs and 6 building jigs for the ribs and just 1 jig for the front spar. As to the PT center sections, Mike Kelly of the Fairchild Club has done several. I think he figures about 900 manhours for a complete center section.
