True, but bring it home and one's alimony payments would be exactly the same--whether bomber or trainer. pop2

Is it worth the $6500 for it?

David -its all a bit subjective! If you can find a use for it I guess its is worth it! A number (probably eight) were brought to the U.S in the 1970's for onward sale . Undoubtedly some of them were lost smuggling drugs so they are not exactly a common aircraft now!

With the QEC's and the wheels and cowlings gone, not worth much except as a papeweight. You could probably find a complete one and have it shipped over and come out way ahead.

There are other examples in the U.S dying at various airfields. The ex RAF examples are usually a bit more interesting as they tended to get about a bit more than the BAF examples!

Hmnnnn. I kind of like the plane. The profile of the fuselage looks a lot like a Lodestar.

The problem with ebay is that you never know when the auctioneer starts laughing...

I could have bought a ferryable one about 20 years ago for $3500 and passed even though I had the money in my pocket. It would just have hastened my introduction to a small fortune in the airplane business.

So that's the ex-Thun Field, Puyallup (WA) one - good, as I thought that had been scrapped. I didn't manage to fit that one in during my tour of the Pacific Northwest in 2000, so wherever it ends up, I hope the location will become known asap and I will get the chance to go and photograph it.
