The Collings aircraft will be at Meacham Field in Fort Worth April 1-2-3. When are they scheduled to arrive? It would be fun to be there to shoot photos of the arrival!

It will be a three ship into Meacham this morning. The 262 is delayed in Austin waiting on a pilot to make the move. Probably be in this evening. No times on that yet.

600 ft in Austin this morning. Haven't checked the weather in a while. That's the reason for the delayed arrival.

I had hopes of dropping by to see the 262 between 5:00 and 6:00 tonight.
Is there an ETA yet?

Most importantly, whenever you fly rides, circle over the courthouse in Decatur a few times! 27.29 NM north and a little west, according to Google Earth!

Exemption letter flights are limited to 25 NM unless we jump through a lot of extra hoops. Flight training in the P-51 does not have to conform to that, but the B-17 and B-24 are limited to 25 NM.

Actually, I kind of knew that. I was just surprised that we are actually that close (by air miles) to Meacham. Seems like it takes forever to drive it.

Finally the ME262 has both a pilot and weather ! Looks like the arrival at Meacham's Sandpiper Aviation should be in about 1.5 to 2 hours ( 4:30-5:00 ) for a gas n go. Sorry I couldn't give more of a heads up.
