The Day the USAAF shot down the RAAF in WW2 combat

Amazing - in WW2 the RAAF lost a CAC Boomerang fighter to a USAAF P-38 Lightning as a mistaken "friendly" blue on blue kill obviously and the pilot wrote up the kill with a Aussie flag amongst his other Japanese kills....see in the photo.... how unusual!!!
