Anyone know of any interesting warbirds, classics, or aviation museums/attractions on the island of Curacao?

Good Day!!

If you happen to just hang out in that beautiful Island off the Venezuelan coast plz ask the Curacao Fire Dpt folks if they still remember or have photographs of the F-86Ks that were used for fire practice at one time c. 1980s near ther airport. There may may be some remains of some abandoned FAV AT-6s in the airport area & maybe a F-86K left on display or some burned out fuselages.

Have fun!!

I just pulled up Curacao on google.earth and noted what looks like a derelict P-2 Neptune at the extreme east end of the field. Also, IIRC it seems to me that I read where the USAF keeps a contingent of F-15's based there.

From a historical point of view it would be interesting to know what aviation units were based there during WWII (Dutch, USN, RAF, ...).

My Dad flew from there, Royal Netherlands Naval Airforce, 320/321 Squadron, flying Avengers/Trackers/Neptune's and Orion's
I'll check what we flew during WWII

The Neptune you mentioned above, is a Dutch SP-2H, serial 203 H (H from Hato)
