This is probably a wild hunch, but it might be worth someone checking out.

The Battle of Midway pilot Lt. Thomas F. Moore, Jr., USMC, was interviewed on the CBS Radio programme "Vox Pop" on the evening of the 9th of November 1942, in a special programme live from New River, North Crolina, where the show was marking the 167th birthday of the US Marine Corps (the next day).

Tom Moore actually was connaected live from a USMC hospital in New York where he was recovering from wounds.

At the conclusion of the interview the announcer stated the show's producers were gifting Moore a brand new 8mm home movie camera, loaded with Kodachrome coloured film.

I wonder if he went back to duty, and if so, did he film any nice coloured footage aboard aircraft carriers or at USMC land stations, etc.

As I say, just a wild hunch, but maybe worth checking out?

Lt. Thomas F. Moore may have returned to flight duty, but I only remember him as my childhood dentist. He asked me if I had studied history, and knew about the battle of Midway, but when I said I had, he said nothing of his involvement other than he was there. He was a very quiet man.
