Unfortunately my Dad's brother and my Mom's brother both fought in and survived that battle just to be both KIA in February 1945 ten days and 50 miles apart from each other. Not sure if either one knew each other. Same home town. Tragic :(

My uncle (Pfc. Earl A. Harris) was killed in the Battle of the Bulge. Buried in the American Cemetery in Luxembourg with Muck, Malarkey, Penkala, Patton, Nancy Leo (The only woman buried there) and 5070 other troops.

Let us never forget the sacrifices made during the Bulge. As many soldiers were fleeing the German onslaught, others made a stand with nothing else but their rifles. Countless numbers of brave soldiers were able to hold the shoulders of the bulge until the US could turn the tide. I cant imagine living outside in those brutal weather conditions and fighting a war on top of that. We owe alot to those who fought and died. In the end some 19,000 US troops were KIA, RIP.
