It was posted on another forum where some guy is looking for one to go in a tractor, he's getting fairly blunt answers from the aircraft guys :)

Oh wow, talk about an investment. $350 in the late 40s and how much now?
What would a zero time Allison V1710-135 be worth today?

I know of one that has just come up for sale, 100 hrs, recent overhaul, for 65K

In the mid 60s I saw about 15 RR engines in crates loaded into a dump truck (2 at a time) as taken to the local landfill.....
