Kirby was a P-38 pilot in the 80FS in the PTO in the early days of the war.... for years he was on the forum AVSIG (when it was on compuserve).... I collected quite a few of his stories and have finally gotten around to getting them posted..... I've got a few more that I'll put up eventually... if you've got vet stories that you'd like to share the Eagle Flying Museum would be happy to host them... check Kirby out and remember a genuine hero:
