p-40 42-104959, this P-40 is listed for sale on Platinum Fighter Sales [http://www.platinumfighters.com/#!__p40n]. Are there any photo's out there of this aircraft or any info on the owner? Just Curious.

Travis

Good looking plane - Always liked that South Pacific camouflage scheme.

Five bucks says it ends up in either Texas or California.

For some clarification, the TP-40N project listed for sale on Platinum Fighter Sales, with the serial number 42-104959, is completely separate to that of the P-40N owned by John Fallis which is described in the link that Dave posted (a beautiful restoration!). Although on that webpage it makes mention that some parts from 42-104959 might have been incorporated into John Fallis' P-40N, the aircraft icorporates parts from 42-105681, and that is the identity it has assigned/registered. The project listed on Platinum Fighter Sales, at least to me, sounds like a mostly new-build project (being done at Precision Aerospace), which will be assigned the identity of 42-104959, and seems by the description/images, is being built to full TP-40N configuration (like Kermit Weeks' original TP-40N, rather than a stock 'N' with dual controls). Being a big fan of the 'look' of Kermit Weeks' TP-40N, it will be nice to see another example flying. To me, it would seem like it would make a perfect companion to a certain touring TP-51C. :D

Agreed John- I must admit I was a bit lazy and posted the first Google link I came across :o
Will have to put the squeeze on the Precision boys for an update, sadly not as easy now as it was when Murray was still around :(
