Warbird Information Exchange

Anyone noted, with some growing seriousness at the moment, a thread on the Key historic/warbird forum where it is said some "users" quoted as well known aviation people have been "banned" pending a review ..... due to making comments,which it seems to based on whats been shared, attracted unwanted legal threats/attention against what it seen to be Key magazine who hosts/runs the forum.

Information is till coming out at this time....

No specific topic been mentioned but people have their opinions... as to what is it....

This issue might be something for others to take note of..you need to be careful what you say about people on forums...as you never know WHO might come back at you or the forum owners for saying rather incorrect or if needs be ....unkind comments.

Just like in "real life" (meaning "everywhere other than the Internet"), don't state or claim anything about someone if you can't back it up with facts. Opinions are still a "grey area", but nonetheless subject to slander/libel suits just like misstated facts.

Your mama told you when you were little: "If you don't have anything nice to say, then don't say anything." She was right then, and she still is.

Some wise person once said, "Keep your words soft and sweet so that if you ever have to eat them, they'll go down easier" (or something to that effect; you get the idea!).

This forum isn't the place to discuss or second-guess the internal administrative decisions of those administering other discussion forums.

An explanatory update.

I note that this WIX thread, has been mentioned on the Key thread mentioned in the first post here. Questions have been asked about the fact that this thread has been locked. It was locked because it is felt that it isn't good form to be questioning or examining the internal 'housekeeping' actions and decisions of the administration or moderation team of another forum.

There are any number of aviation discussion forums (fora?!) and many of us are members of several such groups. So, as the administrative actions at one 'place' have an impact on that place alone, it isn't really fair for those of us 'elsewhere' to presume to intrude and decide whether such an action should have been undertaken. I don't sit in my house and tell you how you should look after yours.

So, it wasn't done to 'stifle free speech', this thread was locked to avoid the appearance of intruding into another 'house' to decide whether their legitimate actions were fair or not.
