FHC's F6F is back in the hangar and is really looking good as well as the rebuilt R2800 and restored wings. It needs to be reassembled and will be on this summer's Flyday schedule. It is in a public viewing area so progress can be seen. Really looking forward to seeing it fly. Maybe they can have a Grumman Flyday and bring HFF's F7F and F8F over to fly with it.

Can't wait to see it! There seems to be something of a resurgence of Hellcat projects lately which has come as a very nice surprise to this Hellcat lover!

Red/orange target drone.

Or the post-war dark blue with the yellow and red wings.

From the FHC Facebook, or were these the markings pre-restoration?

She now has a fesh coat of over-all glossy blue (with fresh coats of primer on interior surfaces), awaiting final decision on the specific markings that will be applied. These photos were taken a few days ago by Jason Fortenbacher and posted to Facebook on his Fight to Fly Photography page. As mentioned, it is slated to fly during next year's flying season.

Again, all credit for the excellent images goes to Jason Fortenbacher.

Who are some local Hellcat veterans? That would be the ideal place to start guessing at paint schemes.

Hey, thanks for the kind words and proper credits given!!

I'll be visiting tomorrow... If I'm lucky I can get some shots of the engine being mounted to the airframe.
