BT-13 crash 20th Jan 1942

Tue Oct 02, 2012 7:15 am

Hi All,

I wonder if someone could help with the number of the BT-13A that crashed on the 20th January 1942 at Riddel Field Clewiston.

It was assigned to No.5 British Flying Training School and the pilot LAC R B Crosskey RAFVR was killed on the solo flight when he flew into the ground on his second approach in fog after overshooting.

He is buried in Arcadia (Oak Ridge) Cemetery

The aircraft is not identified in the surviving RAF records on LAC Crosskey.

Regards
Ross
