Harvard IV (T-6J) Type Data Sheet?

Sun Sep 30, 2012 5:19 pm

Hi, just a quick (I hope!) query. Does a Type DataSheet exist for the T-6J (Harvard IV) allowing it to go on the Normal/Standard category with the FAA. I can't recall which incarnations of the T-6 series are covered and which are not.

Many thanks.

A quick look doesn't show the T-6J listed in TCDS A-2-575 which covers most of the T-6 family. Held by Boeing BTW. which complicates the search.
There is a ref. to the Harvard as AT-16, TCDS held by Noorduyn, but it's not helpful

Harvard IV are not eligible for standard category as they were not built in the US, unlike Harvard II s, which were built in the US

The T-6J is a marketing term used by the US Military and State Dept to apply to Harvards purchased by the US to supply under Military Assistance Programs.
NAA didn't want to build T-6's again and Canada was still producing them as mk IVs. The US funded foreign purchases of the Aircraft ended up with an unofficial US model number IIRC.
