Maybe I missed it but I had not seen it posted on WIX that the Sanders Sea Fury T Mk.20, better known as "924", has recently had its Centaurus run for the first time in 15 years. I have very fond memories of this bird from Chino way back when and can't wait to hear the whistle of a proper Bristol powered Sea Fury again in the near future. I hope they put her back into the same markings as it was absolutely beautiful in my opinion. Pic below from the Sanders web site.

Chad,
You do know that Getch has been holding up the Centaurus Fury bargain since the "last other" Centaurus Fury left the USA (Lloyd's, I think) and still is as far as I know. (Getch must be 73 or so by now, it's been a long time since he was my 727 Captain.)

Besides Getchell's popular Sea Fury, the other US-based Centaurus powered example has been Dick Janitell's, since 2008 (http://www.warbirddepot.com/aircraft_fi ... nitell.asp).

It's great to see "924" coming back on-line (and by the Sanders web site, it sounds like it is very close to taking flight again)!

Hasn't Yagen got a Centaurus-engined one too?

Yeah but the last time I saw Getch's Fury was probably 10 years ago. It and I don't seem to cross paths very often. I'm hoping that the Sander's Sea Fury will be attending more of the events that I generally get out to, namely Chino. I'm aware of Janitell's bird too but, once again, it and I don't seem to run in the same circles. Admittedly my circles are very small!

Mike, Yes Gerry Yagen has a Sea Fury, WN480 "Simply Magnificent" This is the ex Don Crowe ex Iraq airframe that was based in Victoria BC. From the picture, it doesn't look like it will be flying anytime soon.It would appear to be stored at the Fighter Factory location at Suffolk County airport.
