Sorry, no airshow in Stratford this year. Sponsors were gun shy even though none have lost money.
CASC might be working on a Fly-in Open Hose one day event, but I'm not 100% sure. THere is a small event July 1 at Robertson Airport in Plainville. I might drive my Jeep to it.

Besides that, there is Simsbury in September.

To echo Jerry's words:

No large investors have stepped up to the plate this year. We at the CASC would still like to put on a Fly-in Open House one day event, but with every week passing us now it seems less and less likely. The reason we haven't been able to commit and go full steam ahead on this event is due to the time constraints (weekly) our small group of dedicated volunteers has to offer and the fact that were dealing with a few more pressing issues that will inevitably be crucial to our museum's survival for years to come. I wish I could be more specific at the moment but feel that, since were very close to having this deal go through I'd rather not jinx it. Drew will go into more detail if he chooses to do so.

But in general we are preparing to take a larger role in the participation and execution of the airshows put on at the airport. We'd like to become the primary benefactor but I'm sure we'll still require external sponsors to rope in the big planes.

Even though it doesn't look good for an event this year at the airport, we were fortunate to have Yankee Lady visit a few weeks ago, and will be having the Collings Foundation make there annual visit in September. Not to mention Fifi and the Brat III will be visiting Windsor Locks. (Hey Jerry you think we could get the B-29 into KBDR? ;) ) Not to mention we are planning on being at the SImsbury Flyin which is one of the best annual aviation events in the region. I'd recommend anyone in the area to come down.

Hope this helps.

Chris;
Unfortunately, I believe that the CAF's requirements are 6,000 feet for the B-29. :(
