Ex-gang member who is now a pilot helps restore aircraft

Fri Jun 22, 2012 12:36 pm

Hualdo Mendoza, a former member of a street gang, helped the U.S. Air Force restore a replica Nieuport 28. Mendoza, who is now a pilot, learned how to restore aircraft through a gang-intervention program 10 years ago. The Air Force offered Mendoza a ride in an Air Force supersonic T-38 Talon to thank him for his efforts. General Aviation News.

Neat stuff and nice to see he's out of the gang life. If I were to promise to not get any more speeding tickets I wonder what I could get a ride in...
