Did anyone take the tour of the restoration area? Just wondering how the Memphis Belle work is coming along.

Sure did! I happened to get on the restoration tour at the last minute when someone didn't show up. I'm posting all of my museum pictures in this thread (almost 1,100 in all) starting with the restoration shop stuff.

Wow, thanks for all those gr8 photos! It seems they have enough work on hand right now to keep them busy for the next 20 years or more. Interesting they are sending some of the XC-99 out to Arizona for storage. I assume the XC-99 wont be whole again for 15 years or more.

You actually hit it on the head. They said they have a twenty year back log right now if no other work is taken on.

Greg,

Great shots ... Sure glad you were able to make it to restoration ... It's a tour that anyone planning a trip to the musuem should add an extra day and sign up for the Friday tour ... It's the only museum tour that one can sign up for in advance.

Again, enjoyed the brief visit on Friday AM
