Western Region International Plastic Modelers Society Contest June 2nd, 2012

The Aviation Museum is proud to be hosting this event attracting hundreds of entries, special guests and competitors and visitors from across Canada and internationally.

It is with great pleasure that Alberta Aviation Museum / IPMS Edmonton announce that Brett Green will be attending our Western Regional Championship show in Edmonton on June 2, 2012, to be hosted at the Alberta Aviation Museum, 11410-Kingsway, Edmonton!

This news has generated a fair amount of excitement and buzz around the show. This is Brett's first Canadian visit and is likely the greatest opportunity for my fellow Canadians to meet Brett up close and in person. Brett has done a lot for the modeling community.

His range of interest in the modeling world is diverse, being the Editor of both Hyperscale and Missing Lynx, he appeals to both the aviation and military modeler. But Brett's interest in the Hobby does not stop there.

Brett is also the editor for Tamiya's Military Modeling Magazine as well as the excellent Military Illustrated Modeller. He has authored several books for Osprey as well for Eagle Editions.

Brett will produce one of his popular Testor's Model Workshop video on the show, as well as providing text and images for his magazines. He will also be hosting a seminar at the show.

Also confirmed for the show is:

Esteemed aviation artist Robert Bailey will also be a vendor at the show. Robert is now the official artist for Star Wars, having been handpicked by George Lucas. Looks for his Star Wars material to also be on display.

The Western Regional Championship event is promising to draw hundreds of modelers and vistors to what could be the biggest show in many years. With the addition of these special guests attendees are now expected from as far as eastern Canada.

To enter see the website: http://www.wcrmc.ca/

Public admission to the show will be $2.00 (all ages)
Special Museum admission rates for visitors that attend the Model Contest as well.

Having been to previous IPMS events and the Northern Lights contest we host the aircraft in scale are absolutely amazing...so good we were lucky to attract Vic Scheuerman from the local IMPS chapter to become a museum member and keep us accurate as well as provide some amazing displays.

PS

I strongly encourage other Museums to work with the modelers...they are great folks, a pleasure to work with and an amazing source of researchers and a huge help on exhibits!

Tom
