Hi;
I'm trying to find out how successful the "Droop Snoot" P-38s that carried bombardiers on AZON bombing missions were in WW II. The AZON was one of the first smart bombs that could be guided to its target via radio commands. The idea was to put the bombardier high above so that when the bomber carrying the AZON dropped it, the bomber could break away and not endure a long dangerous bomb run as AZON was guided to the target by the bombardier in the P-38. Any help is greatly appreciated.
