I have scoured the pages of Google and Bing trying to come up with a unique paint scheme for a B-24D and am turning to you guys for help. It seems that all the really good paint schemes were on the later J models? Show me what you got, I am hoping to find something with colorful rudders :D

Thank you much,

Dust

You'll go blind doing it, but if you fish around in GOOGLE Images for B-24 pictures you'll come across one experimental scheme where they painted 4 gradually reducing outlines of the airplane on the fuselage and engines. There is a war weary formation ship with two profiles painted on the fuselage, there might even be a decal sheet for that one. And both are 'D's'

The Italeri release of the Minicraft 1/72 B-24D came with those markings. Not sure if it's currently in production. but it shouldn't be too hard to find.

Indeed; "First Sergeant" is the one that immediately comes to mind although a bit OTT in my opinion :|

Wow, they certainly are colorful, Thanks for the leads. I quickly perused the pics and stumbled across the "yellow monster". Might be cute and an attractive alternative if I can’t pull a good glass nose.

Keep the coming, I do appreciate it.

How about "Strawberry Bitch"?

It's not that unusual, but it is very colorful with lots of stuff on the tails.

There's lots of cool formation ships to choose from; I like "109" from the 466th Bomb Group and "Pete the POM Inspector" from the 467th BG.
