What's really sad about the last couple days on here is that EVERYONE, regardless of how strong an opinion everyone has on the subjects we're arguing about, is so passionate about the same subject--preservation and flying of warbirds.

You know, I've been involved in boat racing for three decades now, and as I have been trying to tell to anyone who will listen in that dysfunctional-family, the sport isn't big enough or strong enough to endure the in-fighting that we constantly seem to thrive on...when we should all just be headed in the same general direction.

But it seems that though everyone is entitled to their opinion, many seem to feel that THEIRS is more important or more right than the other guy...and as we have seen on here over and over again, all that does is lead to hurt feelings, finger pointing, kicking the dirt, and taking our balls and going home.

Sad. Because in the end everyone loses. People who could and have made this such a great place in the past are moderated out or leave out of frustration, and it leaves everyone else in something of an information vacuum.

Like I said. It's just sad. It could be so much if we all could keep everything in perspective.

Oh well. Happy Holidays, y'all....m'kay?

Outstanding post Speedy, and I concur. You're absolutely right about some feeling their opinion is more important than others. And it is sad that adults act this way.

Another thing what is with all the pouting like a 5 year old telling everyone you are leaving WIX. I mean really, if you don't like it leave, you do not need tell everyone like you people are holding up the end of a building, warning everyone.

This F'n board has turned into nothing but a few cry babies, whining about this or that. You want to B#TCH at each other PM each other or better yet, meet in a dark ally somewhere with a baseball bat, I don't give a rats behind. Just stop acting like my 4 year old that doesn't get her way and start talking about warbirds. I mean really. this is a F'n joke.

This is a FORUM. People have OPINIONS.

You don't like to see boobs on nose art, don't look, you don't want to really know that millions of people were killed during the war, find another GD topic to research and read about. Go read Homes and Gardens.

My point is you know what this Forum is about. It is about Warbirds, within hence the term WAR! War is bad, ugly and crappy. No one said you had to like it and no one said you had to read about it.

I cannot believe I am going off on a rant on Christmas Eve about how much of a bunch of F'n whiners people are about this forum.

Scott has done a great job in the past, he has no control of the meatheads that get on here to start fights and to throw your opinion around. Mine is no better than yours, it is what it is.

Find another hobby. And please, don't throw Jesus, Politics and any other bull into the mix, talk about planes, talk about preservation of history and if you want to cry, I have some pacifiers I will send you so you and suck on them.

One more thing. Who are these new Moderators? I see they have less than 100 posts but have the authority to shut down posts? WE should know who they are, and what the background is of them to make those determinations. I am sure they were picked for a reason, but since I have been floating back here, I have no clue who is what anymore.

Ok, I am done, F' Me running.

WOW!!! Paul I hope you don't mind, but I will vote your post as the best on here in ages :drink3: :drink3: :drink3:

Personally, I have not been a member here for nearly as long as some, so my opinion on things surely doesn't mean squat to most. However, I have seen such a downward trend in the personal attacks on some who have posted things that others don't agree with, that I don't come in here much at all anymore. It also sux to see such posters as Jack, Bill and Eric leave because of all the stupid, juvenile crap that some seem to take such joy in provoking and promoting. Haven't seen Vlado in here in quite some time either now that I bring up the former VIP members disappearing. So hard to understand why a select few people here think that their opinion on things is the only way to look at things. And I am NOT just talking about the recent debacle with Ryan. I actually thought Ryan was doing a pretty good job of getting his point across without coming off as some arrogant, self-important arsewhole.

With that thought...I am gonna take my toys and leave...nyah, nyah, nyah! :spit :drink3: :drinkers: :supz:

Paul I get your frustration and I'll be the first to send you a big Xmas "sorry if I offended you at anytime" but I'm at a loss by your post. Quite frankly you sound like your whining about the whiners, so aren't you being somewhat hypocritical? Also if you insist using PM's why not use them yourself? Your B#TCHING about the B#TCHING. I see the threads you refer to here at times and trust me I've caused a few myself, but in all honesty I have always thought WIX to be pretty civil over all the years I've been around. Some people get pissed at others at times, I've done it, but I'm not as smart as most ... BFD!!! It happens in life as well as on forums, it's human nature and not necessarily grown ups pouting like 5 year olds. Paul I don't know you but you seem a good dude, you don't need to respond to trivial differences of opinions with a disclaimer of "this is why I hardly come here anymore." Your one of the top tier posters here, show us lower level guys how it's done right. I'd like to learn myself how to rise above the BS and just ignore it, it's that old thin skin thing again haha, and with me you better bring two baseball bats, you'll need em both haha

It's Xmas day for most of us, why not use today as a day that instead of folks leaving WIX , folks come back to WIX, it's really not that bad here at all. Lots to learn and I'm greatful for that. Happy Xmas

I've taken this approach. I look at who the original poster is and if I know their intentions are good, I open the post. If the poster is new, I'll check them out for a while. If it's a known pot stirrer, then I don't even open the thread. about %85 of the people here have really good posts and replies. I haven't given up on the forum by any means cause all this stuff seems to come and go. I've been a CAFer for over twenty years so that's taught me a lot about having thick skin and never take yourself too seriously.

One of the problems is that the solution isn't on the mods side of thing. People have to grow up, grow a thicker skin and maybe wait to calm down before they post.

People have been saying this forum is going down hill lately. I'm been seeing those same posts for a decade now. People come and go, and come back again. Life is cyclical and so is this forum. I can't hold peoples hands and make the bad people stop. If I tried an different group of people would get up my butt about censorship. I could ban everyone that had a complaint made against them. But I can guarantee this, if you've posted more than 5 times then someone doesn't like one of them. I can't ban everyone who posts something that another person doesn't like, we would have no one left.

The biggest thing you can do is ignore stuff you don't like, flame wars need fuel to continue and that fuel is responses. Just ignore it.

People are entitled to their own opinions, just like you are. And remember, their are no wrong opinions. That is like telling someone that they are wrong when they say their favorite color is blue.

We have a great community here, and we do good work (ie http://www.cnn.com/video/?hpt=hp_c2#/vi ... plane.wptv) and we helped save a Catalina, and Ol 927 would be toothless without this community. It would be a shame to see it die out.

Think about what you post, calm down before you respond, and treat others with the respect you demand for yourself.

As my daddy said to me, son leave your ego outside when you go into the men's room....

Same applies here: I think the Rule#1 for 2012 is no ego talking on WIX....

It is a fun place to share knowledge and stories/pics and make friends who LOVE warbirds...

My shout! :drink3: :drink3: :drink3: :drink3: :drink3:

Not trying to steal anything from anyone, but since I got tired of the negative messages I have received, I built my own forum on my WarBird-Central.com site.
