Controller has a Stinson L-5 listed with a Continental 0-430. Anyone know of engine support issues looming that could ground the bird for lack thereof? Thanks! Not sure what the China connection my leave.

You mean a Lycoming O-435? If so, yes parts are / will continue to be a problem. You can use O-290 pistons and rings, but everything else is pretty much specific to the O-435-1 and -11. If you have an L-5 you should buy spare engines when you can. Everything from cranks to gasket kits are becoming pricey and/or unobtainium. For longterm use, I am insuring my 5s with, optimally, two-three engines each as I don't see lycoming making replacement parts anytime soon/ever... Roush O-435s?
