Hopefully I'm not re-posting something that has already been posted. Here are some very recent photos of Jerry Yagen's/Military Aviation Museum's Mosquito, under its own support, and wheeled out at the Avspecs facilities: http://www.network54.com/Forum/47751/me ... for+a+wash

It is such a great sight to see, and I can't wait to see what 2012 has in-store for this aircraft!

Great to see it on it's gear.
Is that Glynn Powell having a look over her?

Sure will be nice to see a Canadian-built Mossie take to the skies again!

Are there any airworthy Mosquitos out there today? In the UK perhaps?

Whatever happened to Kermit Weeks' Mossie? I remember seeing it at an air show a few centuries ago. Only one I've ever seen in person, and I got to see it fly! 8) :D

I think it's still in Oshkosh.

I'd have to think that if it were in Florida, the humid climate would have turned it to mush by now.

Has Mr. Yagen decided on whose markings the Mossie will carry? I think he should consider RCAF Flight Lieutenant Clarence Murl "Jas" Jasper, DFC, an American from Ottawa, Kansas, who achieved 7 kills flying Mk. VI's with RCAF 418 "Eskimo" Intruder Squadron.

The gun-nosed model he's having restored is the right variant for this dedication.

Cheers,

Tom Walsh.

Think to give credit where currently due we can call this the first New Zealander built Mosquito. ;)

(For those unaware, Mosquitos were built in the UK, Canada and Australia in W.W.II, but not - to now - New Zealand.)

Very exciting, and a good reason to cross the Tasman.

Regards,
