According to the ABCD lists l/n 32509 B-17G-95-DL 4483868, was allocated to the Navy as a PB-1W #77233 attached to VW-1 which was sent to Korea @ K-13 attached to TF 77. Baughers site is a bit muddled on this airframe and it immediate sister so things are sort of crammed together, but (according again to ABCD) after service it became N6466D then N5237V with AERO UNION as Tanker E-15 then F-15 and to TBM as tanker #65 then (1993) restored to military configuration and went to Hendon and the USAAF Memorial on static display as 4483868.
It's weird configuration may have had something to do with developing the upper 'height' radar fitted to EC-121's and WV-2's in the submarine like 'sail'

Did you see the two poles and the ribbon for the inverted pass? :lol: It's all perspective, people in the Roadster era @ Indy thought the rear engined cars looked weird-what was the last OFFY Watson Roadster to qualify for the 500 and when?

Inspector, I believe that Jim Hurtubise was the last driver to attempt the 500 with a 'roadster', c.1968. IIRC he didn't qualify...

Yep! Hurk put his very slow roadster in line to qualify on the last Saturday in 1968's race, when time ran out in qualifying, he took the engine cover off the car and started passing around ice cold beers from his sponsor that occupied the engine bay.

Anyone have photos of her when she was a slurry bomber?
