I would never belittle Pyro because he flew more than once...
But he is not the only flying feline during WWII. I remember reading on WIX about some fighter pilot in the Pacific not being able to hold formation because he decided to take his black cat from one island to the next when the squadron relocated.
IIRC he was off flight status until the wounds healed.

Pyro is not the only cat to fly missions in WW2. There was at least one other. There's a photo in a book I own showing a cat calmly sleeping on top of the copilot's instrument panel in a flying B-25. The caption says the cat flew with them on every mission. I'm betting the cat was deaf, knowing how loud it is in the flight deck of a Mitchell. . .

There was an article in Time Life about my grandfather after he returned from India. He brought this little black cat back with him and he said before he passed away that he made a little oxygen mask so it could go on missions with him.
