Guys,

I'm trying to find some sort of a half-way authentic headset alternative in between the usual David Clarks stuffed in a leather helmet, but not the Campbell Classics helmet. I found a picture of a guy on the web page below that had a nice built in headset that looked very authentic, but haven't been able to find out who makes it, or if it's suited to an open cockpit (Stearman). I know he's wearing it in a PT-17, but that doesn't neccessarily mean it works :)

Thanks,

Mike-

This will probably make you laugh, but you can take a plastic bone-dome and paint it brown. From a distance...

I use this in both a Stearman and my SNJ.

The ANR is very much worth it and works perfect.
I don't like David Clark headsets, might as well put a C clamp on your head.

Looks are great but if you have a bingle you'd wish you were wearing something that is hard...

Wasn't there a whole thread on this issue a few months back? I tried, but can't seem to find it.

The Gibson-Barnes helmet works OK in this

It ought to work OK in a Stearman.

And there are three Gibson-Barnes helmets in this photo

I like 'em
