I need a bit of help making up my mind on the color to use for my F-84F cockpit restoration. Digging around I see that Zinc Chromate has no standard green color, but there are mil standards for ANA 503, ANA 611 and FS34151 for color matching. THe cockpit itself is all manner of sun aged cockpit greens, so that's not a good reference. It really looks like ANA 503 to me, but ANA 611 is mentioned a lot for interior green for aircraft in general. Frankly ANA 611 looks too dark olive compared to what I see. I see a brighter Zinc Chromate green color to a lot of it. Suggestions on what color I should match to or does it really matter ANA 503 or ANA 611?

The cockpit is an early F-84F-10GK version with green and black (not the later gray) cockpit with a NMF exterior fuselage section.

Our F-84F-20-RE shows a great variation in shades, even inside the fuselauge. Everything from somewhere around 34138 (FS595B) to34159. Some shades are almost an apple green like 34230. I would not be too worried about the exact shade and you might even want a few variations.

Yep, mine is like a patchwork too. Almost every part is a different Zinc Chromate green. I suppose I just need to pick one and run with it. So far I think I do like ANA 503 color though. It was so much easier when I helped redo 52-9089's gray cockpit because that ended up being matte gray and black rattle cans. Those greens are all over the place though with no rhyme or reason to the color variations from part to part.
