This book looks like it has all the info on identifying all the variants of the Corsair from XF4U-1 thru F4U-7.

Just found out that they are still available at http://www.squadronsignalpublications.com. Pretty cool.

Hey that reminds me, I checked that book out of the library back in,, errrrrr, I mean I read that book :drink3:
