Not sure it's open to the public, but I heard that the Texas Flying Legends aircraft are having a little get together at the Wiscasset Airport in Maine coming week. P-40, Corsair, Zero etc.
Anybody confirm?
Jerry

Here's a link to Doug Rozendaal and the Red Tail P-51's arrival at Wiscaset yesterday:

Yes, Saturday is open to the public the last I heard and I am definitely planning to be there. Dropped down a couple of weeks ago to check out the birds and they are beautiful. Anxious to see them in the air. It's great having these aircraft up here in Maine. If you live in New England the trip will be worth your time.

Might even stop off at Reds and pickup a lobster roll or two or three both going down and on the way home.

More info on show can be found at OceanPointAviation.com. Looks like Texas Flying Legends go up around 3pm.

All but the Red-Tail were there! Don't know if they flew or not as it was raining(as it always is when I go to see warbirds.......) with a very low ceiling when I left at noon-time. Still, that kept the crowd down and anytime your upclose and personal with warbirds is a good thing!

Was there with my son and a friend from about 1:00 PM to 3:00. Saw a WW2/Korea Corsair vet get a view of the Corsair cockpit and he immediately started comparing the cockpit seat with the FG-1D to the F4U-4 he flew. Also met a VPB 112 crewman from Port Lyautey, Morocco (PB4Y-1). A great gentleman eager to show his squadron photo with two rows of people sitting and standing on the wing of the Liberator. He loved the ERCO turret. There was talk of doing ground runs but no possibility of flying. The airplanes look great.

Too bad about the rain. Red Tail was only there for an hour or two last Monday.
Did they have the Red Tail Trailer and "Rise Above" film playing?
