Lackland F-105s to be scrapped?

I was just looking at the August issue of FlyPast, in itthey report that the Lackland F-105s are to be scrapped.

I thought they (most if not all) had found homes via the NMUSAF?

They do report that an unnamed group (Collings?) hopes to acquire one for restoration to flight.

Comments?

None of the airframes are being scrapped. They are being placed in Museums. The Collings gang are not interested in these ones as they are single seaters. There was another thread on this a while back.

I recall the thread. I was just concerned that plans may have changed.

I think it was when that thread started that I talked to one of the lead Wright Pat guys. He said there were 2 more slated to leave for museums. Any one know how many are left?
