French Skyraider & P51 Big Beautiful Doll (Edit: the German one) collided. Skyraider landed minus chunk of wing & the P51 went into a field after the pilot bailed.
No other details yet, but they say the pilots are both ok.

A friend and fellow member of the CAF French Wing just called me about this, having witnessed the event.

Both pilots are OK, the Mustang pilot reportedly having been taken to the hospital out of precaution. The Skyraider lost a good piece of wingtip (about a meter). He should be sending me pictures later on, which I'll post on WWN along with any new info I receive.

WHAT?!

I'm beyond thrilled that both pilots are OK, and the Spad proved her toughness once again today, but how the he|| did that happen?! So, so disappointing to hear about yet another crash this year.

No! What a shame. I am as well very glad to hear that both pilots are okay and that the Skyraider pilot was able to get his plane down safely. But losing that shiny Mustang just sucks!

This could have been so, so much worse. God is good.

Wonderful to hear that both pilots made it out O.K. Kudos to the Skyraider pilot for getting the plane back on the ground and the Mustang pilot for making it out.

Glad the two pilots are unhurt.

On the plane side, this yeat had a very bad start.

Quote:
P51 Big Beautiful Doll (the French one)

Are you sure this plane is the french one ? The only french owned P-51 is "Nooky Booky IV" ??
