Love the factory shot of the C-76 and the AT-9 'Jeep'. I've read that the people who flew it (the AT-9) thought that the P-38 would have made a great trainer for the AT-9, not the other way around.
Years ago AIRPOWER did an article on the C-76 and what a logistical mess the entire project was, the author quoted someone involved in the building of them that he jokingly told a mechanic on the production line to 'not forget to install the bolts in that fitting' and the reply was' Why? I never put none in the last few'

. The article also relayed that one test pilot landed with something sticking out of the wings leading edge, turned out to be a hawk they'd hit in flight and what they were looking at was the South end of a formerly North bound hawk.
Wasn't the P-40 series the last sucessful mass production undertaking by CURTISS?
