I'm thinking Leason for regular high rollers, T6/SNJ or C-47,for the higher up wanna be's .. then P-51 etc. for big high rollers, rarer warbirds for major league high rollers ... what do you think?

I love them but oh so complicated. John Herlihy's was cool has he
gutted the electrical and did away with the control shift.

WIX should buy a warbird right after we enter into a state and federally recognized marriage of all members with each other. And get a dog first. After a few years of all of us caring for the dog, we should buy a warbird.

Nobody can predict how a marriage will work out, but I think the dog is doomed...

I don't even think we could have a dog, let alone a warbird. Questions that would have to be answered if WIX owned a dog...

If we get the dog a haircut is it still the "original" dog? What about if it doesn't get the correct haircut for the type of breed? Is it still a cocker spaniel if it has a lab-style haircut? What happens if the dog needs new license tags and somebody scratches the wrong address over the original? Do we still know the dog is ours? If he gets neutered is he still an original dog? If he has surgery is he still the same dog we started with or does he just resemble our original dog?

/sarcasm

That's where I'm at, too. I believe that WIX is not a tight enough group to sustain such a project, though I wish it were. It would solve one problem. All of the wannabes could be converted to grease monkeys at worst! If we were going to do it, I think we should start small with something a member could easily get a flight in.

That's a rather long commute for Taxas grease monkeys since the plane will be hangared with me in southeast Minnesota. 8)

The new CAF- Conflicted Air Force.
I vote we get an N3N for each region where a group of WIXers reside. Simple and there are sitting around in the weeds.
Each group can drink beer and discuss who will keep it, when it will get worked on, what standards it will be restored, rebuilt, replicated or otherwise.
More beer could be consumed when discussions develop over gold cad or silver. Cotton or ceconite, What shade of paint is correct.
Jack will be asked for various photos and please send it in color so we will know exactly how it should be.
