I went yesterday and had a great time. It started out cool and cloudy, and wound up warm and sunny. The high points for me were the Horsemen and their F8Fs, and the Quonset Air Museum's magnificent TBM restoration. The TBM was complete with an original radar pod. There were some superb non-warbird aerobatic displays, and the Blues were fun to watch as usual.

The Horsemen put on a heck of a show in the Bearcats, they do an amazing job.

They were originally supposed to do a 3 ship F-86 thing, then it became confusing.
Somewhere in the middle it was mustangs, then bearcats, then DTII showed up, for an HF.
Steve Hinton was dropped off just a few weeks ago, so it was a two ship act.

They were stuck in Allentown, PA because of weather. The boys flew down there in the PC-12 on Saturday morning to get them, arriving at 1pmish.

There weren't many warbirds, mostly modern stuff. Here's another sampling.

QUESTION: Hinton dropped off the F-86s.... Does that mean there are no more Horseman 3 ship F-86 performances? Or was that for this airshow only?

FROM AirshowBuzz

The world's only P-51 formation aerobatic team, THE HORSEMEN, will fly the remaining 2011 air show season as a two-ship team with pilots Dan Friedkin and Ed Shipley. The Horsemen will continue to fly their precision, surface level aerobatic display using P-51 Mustangs and F8F Bearcats, plus a few surprises.

Team member Steve Hinton stated, "The Horsemen hold ourselves to an exacting standard of formation aerobatics. We all felt the three-ship's demanding off-season training goals needed more time to refine." Hinton added, "The team looks forward to getting the three-ship back in the air when the time and circumstances are right."

As the museum grows, it seems the static lineup gets smaller.
Almost half of the static displays were from QAM.
F-14, A-6, F-3, TBM, Mig, Hellcat, A-4, Helo etc.
There were a few RIANG display helo's too.

Too bad the museum didnt include the Neptune, it could have been a CoNA piece too.
